Near the end of his life, Robert Frost reportedly said, “In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: it goes on.” I am not near the end of my life, as far as I know, nor am I a celebrated poet, but I have tried to sum all I know too. It isn’t much, I guess, and it – whatever it is and isn’t, however little and however much, worthwhile or not, meaningful or not – does not go on. It ends. Abruptly. Completely. And without delay.
