by lonely furniture

left in an empty room

to sit on itself

a couch

made from pink-striped, yellow cushions

but look close enough

particularly given that it’s dark

and you’re drunk

and you just need a place to be

without the worry

of ruining leather

or a family heirloom

or something important

which this couch certainly cannot be

as it is hardly a brand name
