the following is the following of people who should be looking to lead themselves, or at the least, look behind. the view is beautiful.

an hour lost

an hour spent

looking for someone else

who finds me

worth the while

spent in banal

platitudes that

rarely say what life

is,

which i believe

is what life is

i read

ask not what i can

do for this world

but what it can do for me

so i yell

hi, world

and am told to keep

the noise down

by neighbours

who i have never met

over the border of

mine and theirs

for it is too foreign and

cannot be read

in this world

who decides

who is who

besides who we

let decide

and who we’d often

not rather be beside

for they are whoever

we are not
