without you

there’d be

only an absence

of existence that

would eat up space

only you could

feel and fill with you

to live by in life

the first is

to not live by anything

the second is to question

anything that labels

itself the first

the third is to prepare to

add the unexpected for everyone

has it wrong

the fourth is that you have it wrong too

for there were only ever two things

to live by in this life:

you and what you did

don’t waste

your salvation

on saving my waste

for i don’t mind

having to mingle among

the refuse

looking for a friend

that loves me as much

as the ticks i’ve found

and the fleas that celebrate my flesh

making my body a home

and a world

that holds all there is for a species

who pray that i don’t

use shampoo

or give them salvation salves

from a hand of god

that is just looking to hug

my friends
