We could stay here forever
or we could go back to the bar
and drink a little more
with our elbows on the top
of our nest of peanuts
people
and piss
in wrong corners where
no one was looking
until you did
directed me to the washroom
and to you in turn
a romance that wasn’t romantic
but was just a place
where we went
when we wanted
to find a place
worth finding
if only for a little while
that lasted a long time
*
We’ve come undone
by doing what we’ve
always come to do
which was find love
in one another
that was strong enough
to give another pause
and wonder
what it would be like
to be us
and to have you
the way I did
before they did
and before you did too
*
I’m wasting my time
by looking at my watch
instead of you

I found this poem and to me describes the bar scene well. The part that I liked was at the end the last three lines.
