you’d see

how i wish to remain

unseen

beautiful things

like the mona lisa

are cracked

and wearing

like you

i am horrified by the possibility

i will not be horrified by the possible

and that i won’t write the poetry

of my life that treads and dreads

and reads on impossibly

i will never get

what i have willed

which is no more

than to get never

and shake it into
